How do I enable Modbus on my Solis inverter?

The models S6-EH1P(3-6)K-L-AU, S6-EH1P(3-8)K-L-PLUS-AU, and S6-EH3P(5-10)K-H-AU ship with the "S2-WL-ST" logger which enables Modbus. 

Other Solis inverters require an S2-WL-ST logger for Modbus-TCP communication.

Your installer would likely have already set up your logger.

If your logger has not been set up by your installer, view the logger's manual (attached to this article) for setup steps. 

The EPM (Export Power Manager) needs to be disabled to allow the Voltello LinkZB/LinkPro to manage export limits via Modbus.

It is advised to enable the 24-hour monitoring function from the Inverter Menu Settings:
  1. Go to "Advanced Settings" (Default Password: 0010)
  2. Select 24H Switch and set it to Enable
  3. This ensures the inverter's communication board stays active to upload data even when the sun is down and the inverter is not producing power.
It is recommended to ensure that the data logger and the inverters have the latest firmware version.
S2-WL-ST logger firmware version 'older' than versions 100141d2 or 100121cf will cause communication issues with Solis Cloud.
