How does the Voltello Solution work to communicate with and control devices?

The Voltello app and Voltello devices (LinkPro, LinkZB and AirFlex) communicate via our cloud, which means that once they are connected in the Voltello app, the customer or installer can control from anywhere. 

Connection

The customer, or an installer with delegated access to the customer’s account, can connect compatible devices to the LinkPro or AirFlex via the Voltello app.

If the site is being set up for CSIP compliance, the installer will add the devices and connect to the utility server (“provisioning”).

Communication

Once connected, the LinkPro communicates directly with the site’s devices, like your inverter, meter and battery, and then passes this information to the Voltello Cloud so that automated controls can be applied. 

Automation

The Voltello Cloud manages the automations and controls, connections to third parties like DNSPs and VPPs. Automations usually use some combination of responses from app providers and/or utility servers. 

The automation will evaluate in the cloud and manage controls via the LinkPro for the connected solar devices.
