What are the different Battery modes?
When controlling your battery, you can set one of four modes:
Charge
Charges your battery from solar if available, or from the grid.
Discharge
Force discharge your battery.
Self consumption mode (SCM)
Setting 'Self Consumption mode' hands over the charge and discharge management to your battery's default settings; i.e. control from the LinkPro is removed while in SCM.
The battery default behaviour is generally self-consumption mode which will store any excess electricity your solar panels generate during the day in your battery instead of sending it to the grid. When your solar production drops, the battery will discharge to power your home. Battery charge/discharge is prioritised over imports and exports to the grid.
Idle
Battery will not charge or discharge - hold the charge at current SOC%.
