My device frequently loses connection.

If you’ve tried the connection troubleshooting steps and are still experiencing connectivity issues, it might be to do with your WiFi network.

We sometimes find that customers with mesh networks can have their devices frequently changing IP addresses which means the Link device is consistently having to search for other devices. To minimise this, you can try positioning the Link device close to the inverter to promote the chance of them staying on the same node, or you can try reserving static IP addresses for your Link device and your Inverters to prevent them from hopping around.

Some instructions on how you reserve an IP address are below, though you may want to search your internet provider’s FAQ or Support page for specific help with this (see links at the end of the article).

Assign a Static IP address

You'll need to follow these steps to reserve an IP address for your Inverter(s), then repeat the steps for your Link Device.

Netgear/Orbi
  1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your Orbi network.
  2. Enter orbilogin.com. A login window opens.
  3. Enter the admin user name and password. The user name is admin. The password is the one that you specified the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
  4. Select ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup.
  5. In the Address Reservation section of the page, click the Add button.
  6. In the IP Address field, type the IP address to assign to the Inverter.
  7. Choose an IP address from the router's LAN subnet, such as 192.168.1.x.
  8. Type the MAC address of the Inverter. Tip:  If the Inverter is already on your network, you can copy its MAC address from the Attached Devices page and paste it here.
  9. Click the Apply button. The reserved address is entered into the table. The reserved address is not assigned until the next time the Inverter contacts the router's DHCP server. Reboot the Inverter, or access its IP configuration and force a DHCP release and renew.

Google
  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap ‘Favourites’ > ‘Wifi’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Advanced Networking’ .
  3. Tap ‘DHCP IP reservations’ > ‘Add IP reservations’.
  4. Tap the device (Inverter) for which you’d like to assign a static IP.
  5. Enter a static IP address, then tap Save.
Note: You may need to disconnect this device from your Wi-Fi network and reconnect it before it is assigned the reserved IP
