What are the settings in Solar for Localvolts?

You will need to add your NMI to your account to retrieve your Localvolts price data.

When you set up your Solar for Localvolts plan, you can configure different settings for your automation.

After you have set up your plan, you can change these settings at any time: How do I change my Plan settings?
You'll need to add your inverter(s) to the app before you can configure and save your plan: How do I connect my LinkPro to my solar inverter?

Inverter set-up

Each Solar for Localvolts plan controls one inverter, so you'll need one plan for each inverter. Choose which inverter to assign the plan to by using the 'Select Inverter' dropdown list if you have more than one:

Configure Curtailment Preferences

If you have a compatible smart meter configured in the app, you'll be able to use 'Export Control'. If you don't have a compatible Meter, you'll be using Scaled Production.

Export Control Settings

Enabling Export Control will allow the automation to use your Smart Meter to adjust your Inverter production to match household use during negative FiT. This option requires a Smart Meter installed at this premise and configured in the App.

Maximum Export

If you have a fixed site export limit, you can add it (in kW) to the Maximum Export field. When FiT is positive, your export will be limited to this amount. If there is No value set, your inverters will be set to Maximum Production when FiT is Positive.

Scaled Production Settings

Scaled Production Price

Choose the Feed-In Price (c/kWh) at which you want to reduce your inverter production. When the Feed-In Price is above this value, your inverter will be set to Maximum Production.

Inverter Output (kW)

Your inverter will produce only this amount during periods when your Feed-In price is below the set 'Scaled Production Price' (above).

Zero Production Price

This value uses the Buy Price (not the Feed-In price, or 'sell' price). When your Buy Price is lower than this value (i.e., you're getting paid to import power), your inverter will be shut off entirely.

Skip times

You can schedule the running of your automation using the 'Skip before' and 'Skip after' fields. By default, your automation will run from before sunrise to after sunset. You can choose your own start and end times for this automation with the 'Skip' times. Your automation will report 'No Action' before your 'Skip Before' time and after your 'Skip After' time, and won't send any control action to your inverter outside your set time. Leave blank if you want the automation to run all day.

Advanced Settings

Advanced settings are available for curtailment scheduling or adjustable Negative-FiT export Limits, which can be useful if you have a Battery or EV. We suggest getting to know your main settings and their effects before configuring advanced settings.
